Hébert Labs Machine Shop

Hébert Labs Library

My machine shop consists of three workstations surrounded on three sides by a wraparound workbench, and two full sized service bays. It houses pretty much the sorts of things you'd expect to find in a machine shop. There are several welders, a compressor, band saws (vertical and horizontal) and assorted tools. But principally my machine shop is home to a ShopTask CNC combination mill and lathe that I bought when I was still in graduate school. I needed it to produce the hyperbolic geometries of the electrodes for my ion trap (see Development of a Quadrupole Ion Trap).
